The time has come! Our first big trip in Europe takes place next week, and we are going to….RHODES, GREECE! Neither of us have ever been to Greece before, which makes the trip even more exciting than our travels throughout Austria.
When we were researching where to go, we knew it had to be somewhere warm. We moved to Austria in the middle of the summer, so the early summer was spent preparing for our move abroad, while the late summer was spent adapting to our new home. We needed a place to explore and relax – with the hopes of enjoying a little beach time.
Those requirements quickly turned our attention to Greece. After all, the opportunities for exploration are endless, and some of the southern islands stay warm through November. So we pulled out the ole map and stumbled upon Rhodes. Within minutes of researching, we knew we had to go. This medieval island is everything we would want for our first big trip abroad, and more!

By not over planning, it leaves flexibility in our schedule. Maybe we’ll we want to embark on a longer excursion last minute. Wine tours in Embonas, Jeep safaris, or simply hopping on a local bus to explore other areas of the island. The possibilities are ENDLESS!
With most of the planning behind us, our incredible trip to Rhodes is less than a week away. We’ll use the week to research restaurants, walking routes and any other possible adventures we can think of. It keeps the excitement going, and also fully prepares us, so we get the most out of our trip!
